Confession...

I received this in an email from my husband today.

My Response: Well Paul, that really doesn't matter now, we are a bit beyond that. Maybe you can brush up on the details when you have to tell b.o.b. about the birds and the bees in 20 years!

37 Weeks of Pure Pregnancy Fun!

Well, we have officially reached 37 weeks and this baby is fully cooked! It could be any day now....I hope. I would say with the exception of our last birthing class tonight we are ready. The true test will be if Paul can make it through the birth video we have been promised tonight at oh, about, directly after we eat dinner. So that will be fun! I am suggesting perhaps he just look at one of the fun posters on the wall that he loves so much about the dilating cervix.

For those of you wondering how I'm feeling, still feel good a little like a stuffed Christmas goose, but for the most part I feel pretty good. The only thing that seems to be getting to me is all of the comments I have received on my size by complete strangers and being asked if I am going to give birth in said store that I happen to be in. You'll all be proud that I'm practicing holding my tongue for times not so far away that I must set a good example for our little b.o.b. This is not easy especially when the comment is from a woman who has children of her own and has been through this same glorious time and looked like the side of a barn just before birth! **Note to self for future: do not look, stare, smile sympathetically or for the love of God, comment on anyone looking even slightly more than 8 months pregnant....for your own safety**

Mini Christmas Preparations!

It was a bit "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" until we downsized to the 5' tree! Fit perfectly on our new car....now if only Santa would bring us the little elf that we asked for before Christmas....please!

Gear test #1

Don't worry, no teddy bears were harmed in the testing of this baby carrier!

Supersize me!

Just look at me! I look like someone pumped me up with a tire pump! Oh well, only a few more weeks to go. By the looks of me this baby is going to be an NFL player and we are going to name him Daryl or something equally massive and manly. (My apologies to anyone named Daryl or anyone who loves anyone named Daryl). Really though, I think we've finally decided on names (still top secret until birth, sorry) and we are still married! So.. things are looking good. We get the official progress report at the Dr. this coming Thursday to determine "what kind of holiday baby this will be." I was hoping for Thanksgiving....too bad.

B.O.B.'s room in progress....

B.O.B.'s room is coming together nicely, we just hung the curtains today. We just have to add a few details like artwork, we are painting a few masterpieces of our own to hang. The carseat is installed and just needs to be inspected before take off. We are getting down to the wire here in week 34, waiting to hear what the doctor says on Monday about our ultrasound last week that measured the baby at 5.2lbs already!

30 weeks!

Is it really becoming this obvious? Today I feel like this looks like me(minus the incredibly skinny arms and legs!) 30 weeks today....can't believe we have come this far...and that I'm still alive and moving! I actually made it to the gym today to make everyone else feel great about their figures.

This baby is still kicking like a wild thing! I am quite sure it is going to come out with a tiny pair of running shoes on (and a mini vest of Lebanese chest hair, if the heartburn/hair pregnancy rumor is true!) just like its father. I guess we'll just forgo the jogging stroller!

The baby's room is coming along quite nicely and might even be done by the time the baby turns 2. We will post a few pictures of our progress soon.

28 weeks! For those of you that know Elise has never drank a full soda in one sitting in her life...until this morning! We're getting ready to head out for the 1 hr glucose test. Elise is on a sugar-high now (in this picture)...expect her to crash later this afternoon!

Bob's crib came last night. And Paul even managed to put it together...without having any left over screws (with Elise's help deciphering the Scandinavian pictogram instructions).

belly pictures...fun for the whole family!

Nobody wanted to feel left out of the 23 week belly shots, so we all showed our pearly whites and joined in on the fun...even kitty! But kitty has actually lost weight...thanks to his new diet. Paul's been running so stinkin' much that he doesn't have to worry (though he's the one with the 3:00 a.m. taco bell double-decker taco supreme cravings!), but still Elise is the one winning the belly race!
We're headed to Washington this week for our last cross-country trip before bob is born, and so the Turbeville family can have their laughs at the expense of their ever-expanding daughter/sis.

...Still cooking!

The oven's on high! 21 weeks and we visit the doctor tomorrow. Bob's kicked twice (actually he kicks all day long, Paul's only felt him twice.) The baby wakes up when he comes home from work around 3:00 (err...I mean 5:30 Mr. Paul B). Does anyone know why we are calling the baby B.O.B. (Baby On Board)? Now you do. We've assured ourselves of having a girl by convincing ourselves for 40 weeks that Bob is a boy (We're not finding out the sex and letting it be one of the great surprises in life...which also serves the double purpose of curbing Elise's ability to buy too many baby outfits). Even though she tried to peek at the sonographer's office the other day. tsk tsk. And Paul managed not to break anything in the doctor's office despite being immersed in a rather uncomfortable "female parts" situation.
